Development, integrated production and sales of high-strength, high-quality bolts, precision machined parts, etc., for the aerospace, automotive and medical markets.

Products/Cases[Automotive/General Industry]

Accurately respond to the diverse needs of the automobile industry with high strength, high quality and high efficiency

At MEIRA, where we insist on "high strength and high quality," we are working on product development and manufacturing technology improvement based on our high-tension bolt design philosophy.
We aim to further develop our offering of high-strength products with top-class mass-produced high-tension bolts at the lead, and we handle a number of important products related to the basic performance and safety performance of automobiles with respect to the operations of running, turning, and stopping.
We also handle mass production items called standard bolts based on the standards of automotive manufacturers.

We carry out all bolt production processes, from the design and manufacturing of dies to product inspection, at our own facilities or at group companies, always aiming for an efficient production system.
Further, the advanced cold forming technology that we have cultivated over many years under this integrated production system, and the high quality products produced by our reliable heat treatment technology, are used for the world's automotive and general industrial products.

Parts for powertrains

MEIRA is an expert in bolts with ultra high strength and tensile strength (12.9 class and higher), including cylinder head bolts and connecting rod bolts that can fully handle the huge power produced by automobile engines, and differential bolts used for the transmission, which efficiently convert the power produced by the engine into driving power.

Further, MEIRA bolts, such as heat resistant bolts that can not be defeated even under super-high temperature environment around superchargers and exhaust system parts, are used in various parts of the power train.

MEIRA's products are used also at leading auto racing venues where the latest and most advanced technological capabilities are tested.

High-strength bolts are not just strong but also useful for the downsizing of parts, contributing to lighter weight and better fuel economy for automobiles.

Parts for chassis, suspension & body

For the chassis and suspension of automobiles, which absorb forces from the external environment such as bad weather and rough roads, firmly and securing the comfort and safety of the riders, highly corrosion-resistant and high-strength bolts made using MEIRA's advanced heat treatment technology (up to 12.9 class) are used.

Moreover, MEIRA makes numerous VAVE proposals with various products manufactured using the cold forming technology MEIRA has cultivated over the years (major sizes: M5 to M14), including bolts with an anti-cross thread function (FITPOINT) designed to allow easy automotive body assembly, stud balls for damper mounting, and cold forming parts with complex shapes produced using high-load multistage formers.

Aluminum bolts for automobiles

We started mass production of aluminum bolts for automotive use, a domestic industry first, using our own integrated production system.
We offer an alternative for our customers to switch from steel bolts to aluminum bolts by providing technical services such as examination and evaluation of optimum tightening conditions.

Like hybrid guard bolts, our aluminum bolts are highly resistant to galvanic corrosion of light metal parts.
Our aluminum bolts contribute to improving fuel economy and reducing CO2emissions through weight reduction, and they also offer good recycling efficiency, making them high environmental performance products.

Functional products (original MEIRA products)

We offer many types of functional bolts, including CT bolts with self tapping functions with fastening performance equivalent to that of standard bolts, VT bolts that ensure grounding performance exceeding that of competitors' products, and FITPOINT bolts that prevent cross threading (galling) and seizing caused by oblique insertion at the time of assembly.

We also have resin injection machines in house, which we use to insert and mold resin into steel bolts to produce Hybrid Guard Bolts that achieve both watertightness (sealing) and clamp force retention, making them ideal for applications that require protection against water, and for the prevention of galvanic corrosion when fastening parts made of lightweight materials such as aluminum and magnesium.

Cold forming parts

We have large 5-station part formers with maximum forging load of 8,000 KN, which we use for net shape and near net shape forming.
We design optimum dies by CAE analysis, enabling high speed and stable production of various products such as hole shapes, spherically shaped parts, and high working ratio parts, and cold forming parts made using split dies.
